Andrew George Stephenson

GP poster

Andrew grew up in Cheshire and was educated at Royal Holloway College, University of London. He became a Macclesfield Councillor in 2003 until 2007 and was selected as Tory candidate for Pendle in September 2006.

In his duties as a councillor Andrew Stephenson, who at 22 was the youngest ever Macclesfield Borough Councillor, was selected as the Council’s new Youth Champion - one of the first local authorities to make such an appointment. (ref) At 25 became the youngest Tory Association Chairman (in George Osborne's constituency).

He was Chairman of the Housing Policy Committee but was not very sympathetic to the stress caused to staff by the "outsourcing" of the housing department, in Macclesfield. (see Annual Report 2006/7)

He currently rents a house in Colne, but appears to spend little time there.  He is a self-employed insurance consultant working in Greater Manchester.

Andrew enjoys being photographed on location in Pendle. Often he is photographed standing next to a still life object which makes a point. NHS signs are popular.

Andrew has left very few footprints in the sand. Google him and see for yourself.

He is also a close friend of the tax dodger, Lord Ashcroft.

He is the bookies favourite to become the next MP for Pendle.
